Parametric Wall Systems

This project is composed of two wall construction strategies developed in Grasshopper 3D. Both walls are constructed out of 1/4″ acrylic panels supported by aluminum frames: the front wall is a series of sliding doors engraved with a pixelated image of a polar tree canopy. The image was generated using Grasshopper’s Image Sampler component, and this pattern was routed at varying depths through the panel. The second wal is comprised of a series of fins; sections of the local topography. The fin profiles were generated in grasshopper and calibrated to be the appropriate shape and depth.
